For the past number of weeks, a number of girls in Grades 4 and 5 have been participating in a unique after-school group where they explore their “selves” and celebrate their values and accomplishments – taking pride in the people they are. Together, we have discussed what makes being a girl so special and how each student can put her best foot forward for all to see. Recently, the girls experimented with self-portraits; a creative art activity that enabled them to reflect on their strengths in a safe and accepting environment, where everyone encouraged one another. Stay tuned for the soon-to-be-released video that we created together!
