Montreal native Dr. Laura Segall will assume the position of Head of School at Hebrew Academy effective August 1, 2019. A member of Hebrew Academy’s team for the past 12 years, Dr. Segall served as a High School teacher, department chair and assistant principal prior to her appointment as High School principal in 2014 – a role she will maintain as Head of School.

Dr. Segall holds a Bachelor’s and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from McGill University and a Master’s in Molecular Nutrition and Biochemistry from the University of Montreal. She also spent three summers at the Principals’ Center at Harvard University.

“Throughout the years, Dr. Segall has impressed students, parents and colleagues with her leadership, professionalism, vision, unflappability, empathy and understanding of the needs of our school community,” said Hebrew Academy co-presidents Vanessa Fallenbaum and Chaya Lieberman in a statement to the community.

“We are thrilled that Dr. Segall has agreed to accept our offer and we are confident that under her leadership Hebrew Academy will continue to build upon its foundation of excellence. We are proud and excited to announce that our new leadership team is in place and is prepared to move forward seamlessly.”
