Mazel tov and yasher koach to Grade 11’s Dov Vas who was one of five finalists who pitched an idea at JNF’s Tech Shuk on Monday night! Organized by JNF Future, the Dragon’s Den-style event was open to entrepreneurs 18 years and up with innovative products, services and ideas who sought funding from the Shuk’s prestigious “lion” investors. Dov’s idea for a belt for people with visual impairment that can help them to navigate their surroundings, was already declared a winner in 2019 – garnering the McGill Engineering Award at the Hydro-Québec Montreal Regional Science & Technology Fair and winning Third Place province-wide in the Sanofi Biogenius Competition – an invitation-only event! Despite being two years too young to apply for Tech Shuk, the committee felt that Dov’s invention is so promising, they decided to give him an opportunity and opened a Junior Entrepreneur category expressly for him. Amazing!
