Our High School student body experienced a Sukkot celebration like no other last week; one we hope will be the start of an annual tradition. Following Tfillat Shacharit, students gathered in the Lieberman Family Beit Midrash for a Siyum Mishnayot conducted by Grade 11 student Yehonatan Haimovici who addressed the students with a meaningful Dvar Torah. Students – who came dressed in Shabbat attire for the occasion – then enjoyed a beautiful Student Council-sponsored buffet – complete with eggs, potatoes, pancakes, fruit, cereal, rolls and candy – which was prepared by Hebrew Academy’s very own chef, Ilana Melloul. After the festive breakfast, Rabbi Gavriel Friedman – aka Rav Gav – of Israel delivered a tailor-made pre-recorded Drasha to our students.
Yasher Koach to Yehonatan for spearheading this inspiring event. The following boys also learned Mishnayot for the Siyyum:
Adam Levy, Jacob Silverman – Grade 7
Gabriel Toledano – Grade 8
David Somech – Grade 9
Yoni Mydlarski – Grade 10
Benji Friedman, Eitan Drazin, Avi Somech and Mendel Jacobson – Grade 11
Kol Hakavod!
